The Vision

Resulting from Covid and evolving shopping, living, and business needs, we believe that it is time for Brea Plaza’s next evolution to remain a premier shopping center for Brea residents and visitors. The new Brea Plaza Apartments is designed to be a mixed-use project to complement existing retail at Brea Plaza and provide necessary multifamily housing for the City of Brea.

The apartments will be a four (4) story apartment building over a two (2) story parking structure. There will be a total of 110 new apartment units of varying types and price points. The thoughtful mix of apartment offerings will include options for various demographics and household needs, including three different unit layouts ranging from studios, to one bedroom and two bedroom units.

The main lobby of the apartment building is integrated in to the parking structure itself, with a supporting office, mailroom, and bike room located at the ground level. Residents of the Brea Plaza Apartments will have access to a fitness center, community room as well as an outdoor terrace located at the 6th level of the structure. Other component that are included in this project are improved signage for Brea Plaza, improved safety for both the Brea Plaza, Brea Plaza Apartments, and Community Safety.

The Brea Plaza Apartments are designed to address the following community needs:

  • Replacing obsolete movie theater with usable retail

  • Create a net reduction in traffic and parking by replacing an 1100 seat theater

    • Restaurants evolved and up to 65% of business is now carryout and delivery reducing parking required for dining

    • Retailers such as Mother’s Market, Total Wine, DSW, all of the restaurants, and others have implemented mobile ordering and rapid pickup, thereby reducing parking demand

    • Closing off access to the adjacent Mercury property assures no Brea Plaza traffic goes through the neighborhood thereby keeping traffic off Greenbriar and Redbay

    • Majority of outside traffic shuttled to Imperial Hwy
